Volunteer work can be a stepping stone to paid employment, which is why Step Ahead supports volunteer commitments within the organisation. This allows members to get a taste for volunteering in a familiar environment, especially one where they know their contribution will be greatly appreciated by other members and staff.

Examples of volunteering opportunities at Step Ahead include preparing weekly meals, leading groups, driving vans, lawn mowing, and gardening.

Additionally, if members are interested in volunteering in the wider community, we have  volunteer places available at Meals on Wheels and other community organisations.
