A popular activity at Step Ahead is the chance to join in on a day trip. Our vans can take groups away for the day to countless fantastic destinations around Canterbury.

Day trips often include small towns nearby, such as Hanmer, Kaikoura, Temuka, Geraldine, Ashburton, and Akaroa. Here, members can explore, pick up souvenirs, enjoy a meal, and visit local attractions.

Other day trips will visit scenic locations such as Castle Hill rocks, Te Awa Awa Rata Reserve, Quail Island, Ashley Gorge or St Anne’s Lagoon. We are always open to new suggestions, so keep an eye on the programme to see what’s coming up next, or feel free to add your idea.
