  2. Member Staff Liaison Meetings

    These meetings are held monthly at all bases. They provide an opportunity for members to suggest new programme ideas and give feedback from the last month. It is also a time for staff to share information about any Step Ahead happenings and to let members know the outcome of last month’s new programme ideas. The Read more

    Guest speakers are programmed regularly at all bases. Ideas from the membership for guest speakers are encouraged.   4. Open House

    At least once a year an open house is programmed at all bases. This provides an opportunity for members to bring family, friends or support people to Step Ahead, to meet other members and staff.     Akaroa Harbour is considered to be one of the most spectacularly beautiful parts of the South Island.   6. Jet Boating

    Alpine Jet Thrills provide a thrilling trip up the Waimakariri River from Kowhai Bush near Springfield. It’s a great day out either to enjoy the jet boat ride or come to watch the action.   7. Art Exhibition

    Step Ahead holds an annual art exhibition, usually in early October, to coincide with Mental Health Awareness Week. The exhibition helps to ensure maximum exposure and to breakdown barriers and reduce discrimination.   8. Annual General Meeting

    AGM and Trust Board Elections 2019 The 2019 AGM was held on 22nd October at the Holy Trinity Church in Stanmore Road across the road from Step Ahead. The 2020 date will be advised mid year.     The onsite evening activities at Stanmore offer members a fun night in the company of other members.     Usually an annual event. Waimak River Horse Treks offers ½ and 1 hour treks, and the opportunity for grooming and saddling tuition at no extra charge.
